Profile

I was born and educated in Cheshire, England where I studied at Stockport College of Art. I then worked in an Advertising Agency in Manchester following which I began my career as an Illustrator, acquiring a London Agent, I worked on many prestigious accounts in Advertising  and Publishing, and gained  a wide reputation as a Figurative and Fashion Artist.  During this time I lived and worked in Spain, Paris, Munich and Los Angeles, a love of travel taking me to many countries.  I eventually moved to St. Ives, Cornwall to concentrate on my painting, moving in time to Sussex, where amongst other things I opened an Art department at the Pestalozzi School teaching children from Nepal, Tibet and India who benefiting from their all round education returned to their countries. In 1996 I moved to Ireland , living in the countryside with my animals, enjoying the peace and solitude. I travelled widely around Ireland in this time, gaining inspiration for my paintings.  Whilst the countryside has always been an inspiration, I was intent on people lost in private moments, musical bars, horse fairs, and the inevitable joyous occasions.I ran various Art workshops, something I enjoy enormously. In 2003 I was invited to represent Ireland as one of six Artists at the Florence Biennial: I was also honoured to have six of my designs chosen by Irish stamps for their Europa and Comhaltas Ceoltori Eireann editions. Wining a European award for the last one.In 2008 I was chosen Professional Artist of the Year for a painting executed in Ireland 'The Galway Juggler'.

I am now living in Devon and at present my work seems to be largely influenced by Beaches, here and Brittany, Devon countryside and memories,
